The sneaker brand Converse, known in Brazil for the 'All Star' model, recently opened its pop-up store here in Paris. Located in the Canal Saint-Martin area (learn more about the area here), the store is called 19YT Paris, referencing its address (19 rue Yves Toudic). It seems that this way of naming stores is a trend in the market.
With the slogan 'Shoes keep it clean. Sneakers get dirty', the company bets on the charm and cool factor of old, worn, and dirty sneakers. Those with many years of life and many stories to tell. However, instead of selling truly old, used, and dirty shoes - as one jeans brand once did - Converse offers 'factory-pre-dirtied' models. Paradoxes of modern times. Such models and other collaborations - like the one with American designer John Varvatos - can only be found in this store.
On the first floor, there is also a space for exhibitions and a stage for rock band performances. On the second floor, we have a corner dedicated to customization and repair - Tune & Repair - where people can bring their old Converses for a makeover.
