The Best Italian Restaurants in Paris

The Big Mamma group has six beautiful locations throughout the city, and these are the best Italian restaurants in Paris.

The Big Mamma Group and Its Restaurants

As we mentioned in this article, the most interesting and popular bars and restaurants that have emerged in recent years in Paris have been opened by young entrepreneurs. One of the brightest examples is the Big Mamma group, founded by two friends under the age of 30. In just over 2 years, they have become the kings of Italian restaurants in Paris.

The first restaurant opened by the group, in April 2015, was East Mamma, near Bastille. Currently, there are 6 locations in Paris. The idea is to serve popular, simple, traditional Italian food in a light, youthful, and contemporary way, free of clichés.

All the restaurants in the group have similar menus, but each has its own specialty and name.

Other common points are the decor (cozy and modern, with a rustic side mixed with touches of sophistication), the staff (100% Italian in the kitchen and dining room), fresh products coming directly from Italy, and Italian cocktails focusing on spritz.

East Mamma: wood-fired pizzas, fresh pasta, and 180 selections of wines from small producers. 133 rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, 75011 | Click here to reserve

Ober Mamma: in our opinion, the most beautiful of the 6 restaurants. In front, there's a cocktail bar. Try the smoked stracciatella and the arancini (stuffed rice balls). 107 boulevard Richard Lenoir, 75011 | Click here to reserve

Mamma Primi: specializing in the first course of Italian meals, which is pasta. Always fresh and fait maison. In the beverage section, 30 different wines from the Tuscany region. In addition, all the tonics are made in Italy, a great invitation to indulge in gin and tonic. 71 rue des Dames, 75017 | Click here to reserve

Big Love Caffé: occupying the space of the former Rose Bakery in the Marais, its main attractions are: freshly roasted coffee, gluten-free pizza, and brunch on weekends. 30 rue Debelleyme, 75003 | Click here to reserve

Pizzeria Popolare: the focus of Popolare is authentic Neapolitan pizza (but the menu also has pasta, salads, etc.) and being popular: the margherita pizza costs only €5! But don't think the place is shabby; on the contrary, it is beautiful, spacious, and cozy. The downstairs dining room turns into a small club from Thursday to Saturday from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM. 111 rue Réaumur, 75002 | Click here to reserve

Pink Mamma: the newest restaurant in the group, featuring 4 floors dedicated to grilled meats. The most beautiful, charming, and pleasant floor is the top one (the one in the photo below). There is also a hidden bar (something the French love) in the basement. 20bis rue de Douai, 75009 | Click here to reserve
